Mplayit extends social mobile store globally

Mplayit Logo Many more users can gear up to benefit from the social mobile store on the Facebook platform launched by Mplayit. The company has decided to extend its technology to chief new global carrier partners.

Mplayit has been accessible to Telefonica O2 users in the UK since November 2009. The company declared new collaborations in Canada with mobile carrier Rogers and with the Australian carrier Telstra.

Mplayit has been aiding top U.S. carriers such as Sprint and AT&T and publishers, counting EA, present playable finding for mobile games and apps since late 2008. The new deals seem to point towards a wider trend among the carrier market. Conventionally, mobile operators have not succeeded in correctly utilizing the power of the web in selling their application catalogs to users.

With the progress in smartphone penetration and augmented rivalry from device manufacturers themselves, mobile operators seem to be identifying the requirement to enhance mobile application finding and offer their users with the finest experience feasible. Mplayit is increasingly teaming up with operators to assist them in attaining these targets.

Michael Powers, founder and CEO of Mplayit, commented, “Carriers throughout the world are facing unprecedented competitive pressure in terms of both app downloads and customer mindshare. We offer them a simple and cost effective way to plug into users’ social graphs, massively improve their service proposition and help drive additional app downloads like never before.”

Powers added, “Integrating Mplayit’s ‘playable discovery’ experience with a mobile user’s social network is a powerful combination that drives valuable discovery and viral marketing opportunities in the face of skyrocketing numbers of mobile applications,” continued Mplayit’s Powers. And because we support multiple platforms – mobile Java, Blackberry, iPhone and Android – we’re best placed to help carriers monetise their whole user base.”

Mplayit delivers ‘explore’ and ‘try-before-you-buy’ playable previews for well-known mobile applications on top mobile platforms and available from a usual Web or mobile browser. One can even rate, comment, and recommend any apps to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, Mplayit’s exclusive ‘Apptivity’ feed provides users with a sight of the most played and suggested apps in real time, thereby including a valuable and enjoyable constituent to usual lists or rankings.

Mplayit released complete support for Android, over its present iPhone, mobile Java and BlackBerry services, in December 2009. With several new Android handsets rolled out in the beginning of 2010, it’s the features of the service that is apparently quite alluring to carriers.
