We’ve been witnessing the rapid evolution of mobile phones from basic devices for making phone calls to powerful communication and business gadgets. Apart from the XPRT, Sprint and Motorola also took the wraps off the Android business smartphone dubbed Motorola Titanium equipped with Nextel Direct Connect Push-to-Talk capability.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Motorola i1, this stylish yet durable phone is also an iDEN device. It seamlessly combines Nextel Direct Connect on Sprint’s Push-to-Talk network with Google’s Android 2.1 platform to render an enhanced business-grade experience. The device is certified to Military Specification 810G for shock, vibration, dust, solar radiation and high and low temperatures.

“Motorola XPRT and Motorola Titanium blend feature-packed consumer experiences with an optimal set of productivity and security tools,” shared Jeff Miller, corporate vice president of sales, Motorola. “We are pleased to partner with Sprint to deliver each of these unique business-ready devices to their continuously growing enterprise customer base.”

The handset shows off a 3.1” touchscreen display along with a full QWERTY keyboard for quick text input. It also packs in improved support for Nextel Direct Connect services such as Group Connect, Direct Connect, International Direct Connect, Group Messaging, DirectSend and NextMail. Several Google mobile services like Gmail, Google Talk, Google Search, Google Maps with Navigation, YouTube and more can also accessed easily.

For enabling users to capture and share those candid moments, it jackets a 5MP camera equipped with 4x zoom and flash capabilities. It hosts a series of features like Wi-Fi b/g, stereo Bluetooth, GPS support and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync amongst others. This new handset sports 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded by up to 32GB via a microSD card slot and runs on 1,820mAh Li-ion battery.

Sprint has not revealed the exact release date or price for the Motorola Titanium as of now.
