Motorola reveals third-party applications for Android devices

Android Motorola Logos To innovate its Android driven devices, Motorola recently announced modern third-party solutions for its imminent portfolio of mobile devices powered by the Google OS.

By means of its partner ecosystem, Motorola allows users to extend and personalize their mobile device experiences via pre-loaded, embedded or downloaded applications on the Android driven devices.

“Motorola’s ecosystem partners around Android have developed signature applications that consumers increasingly expect with their mobile device. Working closely with these companies allows us to provide a compelling mobile Android-based experience that satisfies specific consumer needs,” remarked Christy Wyatt, vice president, software applications and ecosystem, Motorola Mobile Devices.

“At AccuWeather.com, we are strong believers in the power of social media to connect people and share timely information. That’s why we’re so pleased to offer the most accurate weather forecasts on the Motorola CLIQ. Our home screen widget pushes current weather to the Motorola CLIQ and gives one-click access to forecasts, so users can monitor their favorite social media and get their forecasts in real time without missing a beat,” stated Jim Candor, Senior Vice President of New Media, Accuweather.

Signature applications are also designed which enable users to personalize their handsets according to their lifestyle. The most recent Motorola invention, the Android driven Cliq with Motoblur facilitates users to access content, multi-media offerings and stay connected through applications from partners such as Accuweather, Amazon MP3, Barnes & Noble, CardStar, Comcast Entertainment Group, Hands On Mobile and many more.

Further, Motorola offers extensive market reach to the developers via MOTODEV that presents a streamlined path into multiple distribution channels including Android Market and operator channels. With these innovative applications, it seems that Motorola will bring versatile functionalities to its Android phones.
