With the arrival of the Motorola Razr in Japan, the land of the rising sun has received a new entrant into its huge smartphone market. Boasting of diamond-cut aluminum accents on the exterior, this handset runs on the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS.

The Razr is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and comes embedded with 1GB of RAM. It sports a 4.3-inch vibrant Super AMOLED Advanced touchscreen display crafted from scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and even features robust Kevlar fiber. The display is covered with a splash-guard coating which makes the handset resistant to water.

Operating on a 1780mAh battery, the Motorola mobile device can be purchased in either a shadow black or glacier white shade of color. They are allowed to capture pictures and shoot videos in 1080p HD from the integrated 8MP rear facing main camera featuring image stabilization technology. The smartphone is also equipped with a front facing secondary 720p HD camera for owners to perform video chats over Wi-Fi or 3G.

This mobile device offers users 32GB internal storage capacity of which 16GB is onboard memory and the other 16GB is provided in the form of a pre-installed microSD card. There is also the preloaded Motorola MotoCast app which lets owners stream or download multimedia content from their PC to the handset directly. Another integrated application is Smart Actions which claims to extend the battery life and make daily tasks simpler by automating them.

The Motorola Razr is now available in Japan through network carrier KDDI. Its price has not yet been revealed.
