Motorola to enter the wearable arena with Quark X?

The wearable market is heating up, what with most smartphone makers jumping in with their own smartwatch, fitness band or even smart glasses; and Motorola remains one of the very few companies to have not announced one already. However, this conglomerate which has recently been sold for the second time, seems to have made up its mind to design its own which may toddle into markets as Quark X.

Motorola itself confirmed that it plans to bring the said accessory this year itself via its official Twitter account during the MWC. Potential users can expect it to be a stylish piece of hardware and the company will definitely use its expertise in the battery department to make sure it can cough up the juice for a long time.

That’s all that was revealed officially by Motorola, and it was the serial leaker @evleaks who managed to find out the name of the smartwatch. And we are expecting that this Twitter account has hit the bull’s eye once again, like countless other times in the past.

Apparently, Motorola was the driving force behind the Google Gem Nexus smartwatch, but now that the search engine giant has sold the former to Lenovo, we doubt that the company will still be working on it. However, a few pictures of this device’s prototype had surfaced on the web via Android Police only recently. Google seems to have teamed up with LG for its smartwatch, which means that Motorola has a completely new device in the works.

Hopefully, the Motorola Quark X will be released along with the second generation Moto X this summer.
