Motorola Droid Handset The much talked about Motorola Android handset, the Droid was recently spotted by The Boy Genius Report.

Reportedly, the Motorola handset operates on Android 2.0 and is powered by TI OMAP3430 processor. The Droid is said to be the thinnest QWERTY slider. However, the mobile phone is slightly thicker than the iPhone 3GS. It features a huge capacitive touchscreen display.

The Android powered device is equipped with desktop cradle/charger which apparently transforms the Motorola handset into a multimedia station and displays local weather, time and more. Further, the Droid incorporates keyboard with soft-touch rubberized finish.

Apparently, the phone packages native Microsoft Exchange support, native Facebook support including contact syncing, updated maps application with ‘Layers’ for traffic, satellite, latitude, Wikipedia, ‘My Maps’, Transit lines and more.

Seemingly, the Motorola Droid will be one of the fastest and thinnest Android driven handsets. Verizon Wireless subscribers can expect to lay their hands on this Motorola phone in a short while. We have no clue about the pricing structure of the Droid. Quite a lot of features of this powerful handset are yet to be unveiled, so stay tuned.
