Moto E is back in stock on Flipkart [Update: Sold out]

Original story The Motorola Moto E received an overwhelming response when it went on sale in India exclusively through Flipkart and the retailer has finally received new stock of the smartphone. Unfortunately, the device is temporarily unavailable for purchase due to server issues.

Flipkart had announced that the smartphone would be in stock at 11am today and while it did keep its promise, eager buyers were soon faced with multiple errors, causing them to be unable to purchase the phone or even reach the product page. The buy now button was then replaced with a ‘coming soon’ label, leading customers to believe that the phone was sold out again. The retailer has since confirmed that it’s facing technical issues and is working to fix the glitch.

It also reassured enthusiasts that the handset hasn’t gone out of stock and it will be available for purchase soon. The new inventory consists of 20,000 units, so we expect it will take at least a couple of days before getting depleted. The Moto E is proving to be as popular as its slightly larger sibling, the Moto G, which is currently Motorola’s highest selling smartphone to date. The device offers a robust design with entry-level features and it’s backed by Android 4.4 KitKat along with promised updates to newer versions of Google’s mobile OS.

Here are the main features of the Moto E:

– OS: Android KitKat v4.4
– Display: 4.3-inch qHD panel
– Chipset: 1.2GHz dual core
– Camera: 5MP rear
– Storage: 4GB internal, 32GB expandable
– RAM: 1GB
– Battery: 1980mAh

Flipkart hasn’t mentioned when the Motorola Moto E will be up for grabs again, but we do expect the buy now button to show up today itself. The retailer has also started selling different colored back shells for the handset at Rs 899.

Update: Flipkart fixed the issue and all remaining units were booked in less than an hour, states a PR rep.
