MobileMe Push Data Services lack instant data pushing

MobileMe Push Data ServiceInadequate implementation of Apple’s MobileMe services to instantly synchronize calendar, email, contacts, events, bookmarks, passwords etc to the servers in the MobileMe cloud has got MAC and apple users crying foul. Pushing of data implies the storage of your information on a web accessible server with changes to the information in a two-step process synchronized in the “cloud” which can be received by all registered devices and computers.

A support document in the Apple’s website recognizes the problem and has confirmed that synchronization with MobileMe is possible only once every 15 mins on a MAC running leopard or on a PC. Data alterations on a Mac computer are not promptly pushed to the cloud allowing only MobileMe’s web based application and iPhone 3G to be pushed immediately to the cloud and back to your device. The best speed sync causes a delay of 15 minutes in up streaming data changes from Macs and Windows PCs to MobileMe.

Users are feeling deceived with the MobileMe failing in its full featured push data service. A disappointed user referred to as McToast has tagged, “This is definitely disappointing, and Apple’s sales blurb is misleading if not downright wrong. They clearly state that. When you make a change on one device, the cloud updates the others. Push happens automatically, instantly and continuously.’ Whilst this is true for iPhones, iPod touch and the new web apps, it’s not true for the Mac desktop applications.”

Vanquishing the aim of having a push data service, a manual click of the basic ‘Sync Now’ button can also push changes into the cloud. The delay of the MobileMe to instantly synchronize changes in the data from the server back to your device makes this highly acclaimed application a real disappointment. Available for $99, for a single-user annual subscription, the MobileMe is not a convenient option with its slightly slackened data push services.
