The U-verse application operated by AT&T has just added extra entertainment value for its customers. The company has revealed a new free application called the U-verse TV Mobile Remote Access App for the iPhone.
Available from the Apple App Store, this application will simplify scheduling and management of recordings on users’ Digital Video Recorders. Both the iPhone and iPod touch are compatible with the application and it will enable users to record content from almost anywhere. Users can delete DVR content and edit or manage scheduled recordings. They can search listings from the full program guide as well as watch descriptions of selected programs.
Jeff Weber, vice president of video services for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets expressed, “This is the perfect example of how AT&T is bringing services together to deliver a better experience for customers. With AT&T U-verse, you get DVR capabilities you can’t find from any other provider, and this app gives users the freedom to schedule their DVR from their iPhone or iPod touch.”
In the past there were several DVR enhancements along with a unique new Total Home DVD feature. This new attribute will now allow users to schedule and delete recordings from any U-verse receiver sitting at home. The company had earlier introduced Web Remote Access and three-screen DVR access to customers along with Mobile Remote Access to the DVR.
From a single DVR connected with any TV in the home, users can watch standard and High Definition shows. Furthermore, customers can have fun with numerous other applications such as personalized, on-screen weather, sports, traffic and stock information via the AT&T U-bar.
Users can also attain local and national forecasts with Weather On Demand. This service will enable users to view photos on the TV and also upload them to popular sites like Flickr. Through IP technology, customers can use quadruple-play integration with enhanced features and greater value.
Customers can avail of the Mobile Remote Access App for free on iPhone and iPod touch through Apple’s App store.
