Mobile phones can now be used to create websites

Mobisitegalore, mobile, websiteCreating websites couldn’t get simpler than this. Millions of mobile users in India can now create websites from their mobile itself. The first ever cellphone-based application to create and publish websites will be launched by Chennai-based Akmin Technologies. Akmin Technologies are pioneers in offering mobile websites. This Independence Day onwards, users can create and own sites in matter of minutes. The process is completely hassle-free.

Akmin CEO S Prashanth commented, “We offer the technology free of cost to the customers. Unlike the web version, the screen in the mobile version will be customized and user-friendly to enable even lay persons have their own websites. No technical knowledge is required and no downloads needed. Mobile users can build, publish, manage and share mobile websites.”

Prashant further mentioned in Times of India (TOI) that mobile phones are reaching every segment of society. The growth in mobile phone base as compared to the penetration of PCs was far greater and widespread.

Users don’t need to access the internet through a computer to create their own website now. The process is simplified with the cellphone-based application accessible through GPRS-enabled handsets. Starting from August 15, the application is completely free of cost and available on the mobisitegalore website.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had reported about 65 million users in the country with GPRS-enabled handsets out of the 250 million total users. In contrast there are only 14 million broadband connections.

About a year and a half ago, the company had launched a mobile website developer. The tool was mostly used by Indians and Americans. With about 25,000 people using it, mobile websites can be created by accessing the internet using a PC.
