Mobile Entertainment, a company known for networked mobile phone games and wireless entertainment has announced multi-player mobile phone game products that comply with the wireless application protocol (“WAP”) 2.0 technology.
The 2.0 technology allows Chinese mobile phone users to access higher quality graphics, richer content and improved features through the game products.
Mobile Entertainment is distributing through the existing 2.5G and upcoming 3G mobile phone networks of China. They mainly develop and distribute interactive mobile games through the service providers to users of China Mobile Communications.
As Conrad Yip, Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Entertainment, Inc stated, “Mobile operators supporting WAP 2.0 will be the first to capture the growing contribution to average revenue per user (“ARPU”) from these data services. WAP 2.0 is the protocol applied in handsets communications by using a cut-down version of XHTML which supports full color and easy navigation.
The WAP 2.0 improves the data content on mobile phones which looks similar to the content available on the web.
The pervious WAP 1.2 technology is older and slower for graphics forms and data transfer as compared to the latest WAP 2.0 technology.
