Mokume Gane means wood grain metal in Japanese, is a process of bonding mixed-metal invented by Denbei Shoami. Mobiado claims to be the first to create a handset using Mokume Gane. Touted to be ‘a symbol of Japanese spirit’, the Classic 712MG has been sumptuously scuplted using the seven step cleaning process using copper, nickel silver and brass in order to prevent material delimitation.

The handset manufacturer has embedded large sapphire crystal plates that have been hand painted with 24 karat gold lettering and symbols in the phone. The keys are done up with multiple sapphire crystal buttons that comprise of 18 karat rose gold, 24 karat yellow gold and silver. The entire device has been fashioned with a total of 204.5 karats of sapphire crystal.

The phone’s battery cover is designed with a single piece of sapphire crystal. An exclusive sliding battery cover mechanism is incorporated in the Classic 712MG. The device can be picked up by any user irrespective of the GSM network operator. Adorned with 2.2 inch QVGA display and 5 megapixel camera featuring flash and video recording, the handset features a music player, web browser and GPS. Offering email support, this beauty works on quad-band GSM and triple band WCDMA Band I, II and VIII networks in up to five continents.
