Microsoft Tag: Second iPhone Application by Microsoft Released

Microsoft Tag application

It seems that Microsoft had a sweet taste of success after earlier introducing its first Seadragon application for the iPhone. Microsoft has introduced its second application for the iPhone known as Microsoft Tag.

Microsoft Tag application enables users to snap pictures of any colorful icons from its camera. The clicked image can be from a website, product information or any other thing. By just pointing the phone’s camera to a custom tag it will allow its users to access music, videos, mobile contents, news, social networks and much more.

The new application by Microsoft can read special color barcodes. Microsoft claims that anyone can create their own barcodes and then fix them with something. After this, the barcodes can be scanned and can be linked to any page with the Microsoft Tag application installed on the iPhone. Multimedia files and URLs can be opened with the two-dimensional codes of Tag. These tags have been developed by a new technology engineered by Microsoft Research.

In general, Microsoft tags stored on Microsoft server have a unique ID that can fetch more data. These tags are comparatively smaller in size and data is stored in the form of colored triangles.

Microsoft Tag application are also available for Windows Mobile and other Symbian S60 phones. Hurry up to grab this application for free as Microsoft plans to charge for it later.
