The Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 have been released and we are guessing they are much better than the previous iterations of the tablets. And along with these devices, the software maker has even introduced some new accessories for the gadgets.
Apart from some advanced features, users can expect the devices to come with battery enhancements that work towards increasing the power life considerably. The Surface 2 runs Windows RT 8.1 and is the proud owner of a 10.6-inch ClearType full HD display, a 3.5MP webcam and a 5MP primary camera. The internal working of the gadget is carried out under the supervision of the Nvidia Tegra 4 chipset and interested customers can expect it to cough up video playing time of close to 10 hours.
Successor to the Pro tablet, the Surface Pro 2 is based on the Windows 8.1 OS and is here to give tough competition to laptops. It is compliant with most Windows apps and tags along a kickstand that can be set in two different positions for working conveniently. Powered by the fourth generation Intel Core i5 processor, the slate’s 64GB and 128GB models will be released with 4GB onboard memory, while the 256GB and 512GB variants boast of a whopping 8GB system memory.
As for the availability details, Microsoft has revealed that the Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2 are currently up for pre-order in the US and Canada and will start shipping on October 22. The former begins at $899, while the latter will set users back by at least $449. Accessories like Touch Cover 2, Type Cover 2, Power Cover and docking station for the Pro model have also been unveiled.
