Micromax Bolt A28, Bolt A59 are new entry-level Android phones for India

The Micromax Bolt A28 as well as the Bolt A59 are the newest in the series to have made their debuts in India and are extremely affordable with sub-5K price tags. The former is a Gingerbread phone priced at Rs 3,674, whereas the latter is a Jelly Bean device that costs Rs 4,542.

Let’s first take a look at the Bolt A28. This compact device accommodates a 3.5-inch capacitive TFT touchscreen on its front panel and is powered by the Android 2.3 platform. A Cortex A5 processor ticking at 1GHz fuels the dual SIM smartphone to make it capable of supporting at least a couple of apps at the same time. Also, both the front and rear sides of the device feature a 0.3MP camera each. The handset’s 1500mAh battery strives towards coughing up the juice for talk time of about 4.5 hours.

Up next is the Micromax Bolt A59, another 3.5-inch gadget that makes the most of the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS and acquires steam from a single core 1GHz processor. 256MB of RAM has been thrown into the mix to ensure smooth navigation. A 2MP camera rests on the rear side, whereas a VGA webcam facilitates video conferencing on the move. This handset’s 1500mAh battery can provide talk time of up to 4 hours and its 4GB onboard memory can be expanded further by up to 32GB.
