Mega for Android lands in Google Play, iOS and Windows app coming soon

Kim Dotcom’s Mega Android app is all set to challenge the reign of cloud storage services such as Dropbox and SkyDrive, even as it reserves a spot on the Google Play store and can be downloaded for free. In a blog post, Mega has revealed that the company will soon be rolling out dedicated utilities for iOS as well as Windows, which are currently said to be in their final stages of testing.

Mega provides users with up to 50GB of free storage and the company has highlighted the app’s ability to offer complete encryption. Turning our attention to its attributes, the service makes it possible to upload pictures and videos automatically, thanks to Camera Sync.

Not only does the software let people explore their personal storage account, but it also comes with a search tool which permits them to hunt for content within the same. Additionally, functions like renaming, deleting and moving files as well as creating folders will be at users’ disposal.

Prior to pushing the app to the fore, the company had made some changes to the beta version so as to fix certain bugs with respect to Camera Sync. It moreover included an option which allowed users to select any folder on the handset by pressing the back button a few times. The recent changes also speak of a new design for the service.
