Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 4 has now been supported with McAfee’s Trust Digital software for its Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) customers. This software is a key to an organization’s mobility strategy particularly with smartphone capabilities delivering advanced PC-like computing performance to users. The company previously announced the close of its Trust Digital acquisition on June 3. With this platform, enterprises will possibly provide their teams the tools to secure, manage and assist their mobile workforce.
This software provides a granular control of both device and mobile apps that discharge the need for clumsy, email-centric ‘sandbox’ approaches that only protect email and calendar data and fail to match Apple’s native user experience. Other than supporting the devices of iOS 4, this upgrade is also available to its existing EMM customers. In terms of features, the EMM suite allows consumers to configure and update their device settings transparently.

The platform enables users to monitor as well as enforce the compliance of corporate policies such as blocking modified devices, enforcing device encoding and providing wiping or locking capabilities. This platform will also be delivering Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities as well.
Additionally, EMM enables device management capabilities that administer McAfee Trust Digital which automates connection of services such as Wi-Fi, VPN and email to iPhone and other smatphone devices.
