Tinsel town’s history unfolds for iPhone owners with detailed mapping of several stars living in this universe. Tribune Interactive’s Apptivate.Me unit brings out an interesting application dubbed as Los Angeles Times Hollywood Star Walk mobile app. This software offers an interactive experience for tourists and entertainment junkies coming to L.A for a star struck glamorous vacation.

The app proffers intriguing facts and seldom seen photos of Hollywood’s affiliates. The Times went through all its archives to create a precise roadmap of Hollywood. There are over 2,000 stars in the Hollywood Walk of Fame where users can search for their favorite ones with keywords like name, type, block or GPS location. Furthermore, they can even find the star closest to their current Hollywood location.

“Our goal was to create an amazing user experience and we’ve done just that. Users of this app are getting not only a map of the Walk of Fame, but also a complete download of historical information from the archives of one of the country’s top media sources, the Los Angeles Times,” stated Marc Chase, president of Tribune Interactive. “We’ve created the ultimate Hollywood user experience — virtually and in real time.”

With the help of the LAT Hollywood Star Walk app, users can invent a custom tour by simply making a list of their favorite stars. They can also garner all the information about these stars from trusted sources like the star features which are mini-bios written by Southern California’s hometown newspaper’s editorial staff. Moreover, handset owners can see the stars displayed on their screen by simply pointing their iPhone in a certain direction. The map mode points those who do not have video-capable devices in the accurate direction.

The Los Angeles Times Hollywood Star Walk mobile app can be downloaded from the iTunes Store for $2.99.
