LiMo foundation introduces new handsets

LiMo Foundation Handsets LiMo Foundation, a global consortium of mobile industry leaders recently announced the latest series of LiMo-compliant handsets. The handsets are designed by NEC and Panasonic Mobile Communications for NTT DoCoMo.

With the introduction of these handsets, LiMo foundation aims to make its presence felt in the global mobile marketplace. The latest handsets are equipped with highend features and enhancements. In order to meet the expectations of the current generation of mobile users, the handsets package high megapixel cameras, rich media capabilities, and upgraded connectivity support.

“The successful launch of the latest LiMo handsets further establishes LiMo Platform as a leading device platform within today’s rapidly evolving mobile ecosystem,” marked Kiyohito Nagata of NTT DoCoMo, chairperson of LiMo Foundation.

“In February 2009, a number of major network operators announced their intent to launch multiple devices built upon the LiMo Platform. This additional line of innovative handsets is indicative of the deep and abiding commitment our operators and device manufacturers hold towards fulfilling that promise by delivering next-generation LiMo technologies,” quoted Morgan Gillis, executive director of the LiMo Foundation.

Some of the NTT DoCoMo’s handsets which will be shipped include DoCoMo Prime series N-06A, N-07A, DoCoMo Style series N-08A, and DoCoMo Smart series N-09A models from NEC.

DoCoMo Style series P-06A, DoCoMo Prime series P-07A, DoCoMo style series P-08A, DoCoMo Smart series P-09A, and DoCoMo Style series P-10A models from Panasonic Mobile Communications will also be shipped.
