LG is planning a budget phablet, the G Pro Lite Dual with a 5.5″ screen

Just when we through LG had simplified its device naming strategy, the G Pro Lite Dual managed to hit the rumor mill bearing an awkward, yet descriptive name. Just by the moniker you’d understand what exactly the upcoming handset is – A budget-friendly alternative to the Optimus G Pro featuring dual SIM card slots.

The existence of the the G Pro Lite Dual was brought to light by Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru and the website has managed to get its hands on a couple of press images as well. The device looks highly similar to its Optimus cousin, but since its dual SIM enabled, the design will not feature a physical home button, but 4 capacitive touch keys instead. The same concept has been used in latest L Series II of smartphones.

G Pro Lite Dual

The G Pro Lite Dual will be similar in size to the G Pro. According to the leaked information, the handset will measure 76.9mm x 150.2mm x 9.48mm in dimensions. The display size remains the same at 5.5 inches, but the IPS panel will not feature FHD visuals, but 960 x 540 pixels qHD resolution instead. There’s no word about the front camera resolution, but the rear one will be 8MP with a BSI sensor.

Moving on to the internals, the company has put a dual core 1GHz processor of unknown make, behind the wheel of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is quite a disappointment. The handset will also sport 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. A microSD expansion bay is onboard as well, along with FM radio support and a 3140mAh battery.
