LG Optimus L9 II and G Pro Lite confirmed to get Android KitKat ‘in the coming weeks’

With a number of old devices now receiving the Android KitKat update, the Optimus L9 II and G Pro Lite from LG wouldn’t want to lag behind. And they won’t, as the company has announced that it will soon be delivering the latest flavor of Google’s OS to these smartphones.

According to The Droid Guy, this piece of information comes from LG Italy’s Facebook page where it is mentioned that Android KitKat will be reaching the two devices ‘in the coming weeks.’ However, no firm release date details have come to the fore yet.

LG Optimus L9 II

Launched late last year, the LG Optimus L9 II had shipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onboard. It features a 4.7-inch True HD-IPS LCD screen on its front surface, whereas an 8MP camera occupies space on its rear. It runs on a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU that’s clocked at 1.4GHz.

The G Pro Lite grabs comparatively lower-end specs but is still an impressive device. Equipped with the 4.1 version of Jelly Bean, it offers the benefits of a 5.5-inch display garnering a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It kicks in an 8MP camera and is works on a dual core 1GHz Cortex-A9 processor.
