To offer high-fidelity DivX video experience to millions of users, LG and DivX joined hands to bring two new LG handsets called the LG GW620 and the LG Chocolate BL40, both certitified by DivX. The GW620 claims to be LG’s first Android smartphone certified by DivX.
For delivering rich-quality media experience on the mobile platform, the DivX technology creates super compressed videos that need least storage. For instance, with the help of the DivX technology a standard definition movie can be compressed into 1GB that can be conveniently stored on a handset for easy viewing.

LG’s first Android-powered smartphone boasts of its 3-inch, 320×480 resolution touchscreen that allows users to enjoy DivX videos. Presently, the device is available in North America and Europe. Fourth handset of the LG Black Label Series, the new LG Chocolate flaunts 4-inch widescreen with a 21:9 aspect ratio to offer a panoramic, rich high-quality DivX viewing experience. The new LG Chocolate was launched in the UK in September and is now available throughout Europe and the Middle East. The device’s worldwide release is expected by the end of the year.
After LG Viewty and Secret, GW620 and new Chocolate handsets are new entrants in the lineup of DivX certified phone. The DivX ecosystem features more than 200 million DivX devices shipped into the market across the globe.
