LG CX2 successor to Optimus 3D?

Almost all smartphones manufacturing companies are coming out with successors to their popular handsets and the latest one in the news is the supposed enhanced version of the Optimus 3D dubbed as the LG CX2. Some leaked pictures of this handset have surfaced on the web and it looks quite similar to its predecessor with the sleek exterior design.

Launched almost a year ago at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress 2011, the Optimus 3D was reportedly the first 3D mobile phone to emerge from LG’s stable. This new smartphone in question is also noted to be 3D enabled. Currently codenamed CX2, it is said to operate on a 1.2GHz Texas Instruments dual core processor.

The upcoming handset apparently possesses the same 4.3-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen display featured by its predecessor, except that it will be employing Nova technology. This smartphone is expected to be capable of displaying more enhanced 2D and 3D images as compared to the 2D 1080p HD and 3D 720p ones that the Optimus 3D boasted of.

Besides the screen size, the LG CX2 is also believed to share the same Android 2.3 OS and dual rear cameras which could be spotted on the Optimus 3D. It is most likely to come equipped with an internal memory of 8GB and would be capable of lending support to DLNA-capable Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and 21Mbps HSPA connectivity options.

PocketNow reports that the LG CX2 or Optimus 3D 2 is rumored to be launched at the Barcelona Mobile World Congress next month and may commence shipping from early spring.
