Heard of the byword – ‘anything added for better is better’? Readers may soon agree with it. Lexi-Comp has introduced a new version of its Blackberry applications, designed particularly for many of the features and enhancements now available in version 5.0 of the Blackberry OS.

The company has also included compatibility with Palm OS and Palm webOS devices, Pocket PC devices, and smartphones including iPhone, Google Android and Windows Mobile devices.

The new Blackberry 5.0 app comes with four key enhancements to Lexi-Comp’s current Blackberry offering. The latest app allows users to store all important data on an SD card and shuns the need for a consistent cell or Wi-Fi connection. Users can now view tables, charts, appendices, and images exactly as they are seen in Lexi-Comp’s handbooks and Internet platforms.

Moreover, the Blackberry app helps users download and update the software without requiring any cords or syncing. Lastly, the interface is more user-friendly, with an overall cleaner presentation of information. Further, users can create and store personalized user notes within each monograph, as well as diagnose, find treatment options, and identify drug interactions in seconds.

Apart from all this, clinicians now have the ability to link to FDA warnings, PubMed, and additional resources directly from their mobile device. On the other hand, dental professionals can utilize this mobile technology to access the same photo-rich resources presented in Lexi-Comp’s highly regarded printed dental manuals.

The enhanced Blackberry app can now be purchased by visiting Lexi-Comp’s Blackberry medical and dental software page.
