The Lenovo A1000, A3000 and S6000 Android slates have entered India with the ThinkPad Tablet 2 and IdeaPad Lynx K3011 in tow. The new ThinkPad and IdeaPad devices rock the Windows 8 OS, unlike all the others mentioned here which have received certifications from Google. Recently, the Lenovo Miix 10 Windows tablet went up for sale in the US, but nothing has been said about its availability in India.
First up is the A1000, a Jelly Bean-powered 7-inch device which manages to render visuals in 1024 x 600p resolution. It gains steam from a 1.2GHz processor and brings 16GB onboard memory which is expandable by up to 32GB. The A3000 is a voice-calling slate and employs a quad core processor for its internal working. Users have the option of increasing its storage by up to 64GB.
Prospective customers who would rather go for a bigger touchscreen, should consider the S6000. Its front side is graced by a 10.1-inch multi-touch display of 1280 x 800p resolution and the HSPA+-enabled gadget incorporates a quad core MediaTek processor clocking in a speed of 1.2GHz. It can be expected to offer usage time of about 8 hours.
As for the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, the 10.1-inch tab boasts of a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Atom processor and 2GB of RAM. It can project images in 1368 x 768p resolution, offers internal memory of 64GB and is accompanied by a stylus. The IdeaPad Lynx is more or less similar to the ThinkPad device, but offers a larger multi-touch real estate that measures 11.6-inch diagonally. Also, this device is a hybrid and can be purchased with a detachable keyboard dock.
The respective prices of the A1000, A3000 and S600 are pegged at Rs 8,999, Rs 16,000 and Rs 27,000. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 will set users back by Rs 50,000, whereas the IdeaPAd Lynx will be up for sale for Rs 51,990 through the company-owned stores and other authorized retail channels.
