Here’s some good news for people who own Apple’s exquisitely devised iPhone. Layar has just announced the availability of its breakthrough Layar Player for all iPhone applications.
The just out Player has been made practicable to all agencies, brands and developers to comprise Augmented Reality for free in their own iPhone applications. In order to take the experience to a higher level, the beta period sums up with the release of three Layar Player-enabled iPhone apps.
The first one is ‘Bing sponsored Snowboard Hero,’ an augmented reality extension in the popular game that enables players to earn more points. The second one is ‘Layar Trade,’ an application that assists users in viewing recent projects and work from local builders.
“At Bing, we aim to bring information into people’s life that is visually organized, simple and easy to digest. Augmented reality on mobile devices provides more opportunities to overlap reality with digital information that informs, educates and creates new ways to play within your environment,” stated Wibe Wigenmans, Bing for Mobile. “The mobile experience for Bing users continues to evolve as we constantly look for ways to create visually engaging experiences.”

“This year is about the democratization of augmented reality as we work to find ways to make it easier for everyone to create and publish AR content,” stated Claire Boonstra, co-founder and VP of platform and community. “The Player availability is the first of many activities Layar will be announcing this year to make this democratization happen.”
Users can now download the Layar Player from the company’s official website and start creating their own augmented reality application.
