Lava Iris 406Q launched at Rs 7499, Android KitKat upgrade an option

We don’t get to say this often, but the Lava Iris 406Q is one of the most impressive budget smartphones to hit the market of late, and it costs Rs 7499 and has the Android KitKat upgrade as an option. What’s more, it’s the company’s first ever handset to embed a quad core Snapdragon 200 processor.

Gaming enthusiasts may be pleased to hear that the Lava Iris 406Q is claimed to be capable of handling demanding titles like Modern Combat 4, Asphalt 8 and Dead Trigger 2 owing to the combination of the Snapdragon processor with its 400MHz Adreno 302 graphics muscle and 1GB of RAM.

One drawback is the screen that is just 4-inches across, which is pretty small for a mobile gaming option. The smartphone runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 but it can be updated to KitKat. There is 4GB of memory onboard and for entertainment hoarders, Lava has also added a microSD card slot for shoving in up to 32GB of extra locker room.

A 5MP camera can be found on the scratch-resistant back panel and a 0.3MP one above the display. The 1700mAh power house hiding under the hood is enhanced with a Battery Guru feature which is said to detect usage patterns and conserve energy.
