JoikuSpot converts Symbian Handsets into Wi-fi Hotspots

But, what if you wanted to use that very Internet connection on other devices? Now, you can with the help of a new application called JoikuSpot from Finland-based Joikusoft.

This application for Symbian Series 60 based smartphones actually converts them into a Wi-Fi hotspot using 3G cellular , allowing the Internet connection to be sent over WLAN to any compatible WLAN device such as a laptop or other smart phones too.

Thus, it can be said that JoikuSpot acts as a sort of Internet gateway to external WLAN devices, and to top it all, this application is really easy to use.

According to Joikusoft founder and CEO, Mr.Lasse Maki, “Internet should be easily and cost-efficiently accessible everywhere, and Joikusoft aims to enable that wit the JoikuSpot invention.”

  • As of now, JoikuSpot is in the beta stage, but is already available for download from Joiku.com. But, you must know that it is not yet the final product and you may experience a few difficulties.

    The final release of the JoikuSpot software is expected to take place in the second half of 2008.
