Jeep introduced the TripCast application for the iPhone which will allow adventurous users to track their way into unseen locations. Enabling them to create an exciting connection with their friends and relatives while on the move, the application certainly sounds fun.

By utilizing the interface of the phone, the application allows users searching from an array of more than 250,000 outdoor recreation hot-spots with categories like parks, bike, paths, camping, ski resorts and more courtesy the Points of Adventure feature. The devices come equipped with GPS capabilities and will help them track their way to destinations. While on the way, users can click scenic images and share it with their friends.

Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, remarked, “TripCast enables everyone with a sense of adventure to plan a trip, share it with friends as their journey unfolds, and find new spots to explore. This new app is perfect for Jeep fans, and anyone who enjoys getting out, having fun, and sharing that fun with friends. It also provides us with a unique way to connect with a wide array of consumers, exposing them to the unique Jeep lifestyle along the way.”

Through the Public, Invite and Private settings they can decide as to what and how much information to share. Earmarking all their tracking information with everyone is possible through the Public settings. They can send invitations to their friends for chasing the trip from the Invite option and keep the information private to themselves by the Private setting. This application updates users about their friends if in the same location and allows chatting with them as well.

Users can post and share their photos, videos, audios and text with friends for viewing them on ‘on location’ map in real time. Memories of the adventurous trips can then be shared on Facebook and Twitter via the web. Other than enjoying the ride, travelers can also listen to music by creating playlists. The application allows users to create their personal profile and customized Jeep avatar. To remember the trips later, they can save and watch their own or friends in real time or later on their handsets on web.

The TripCast application is available for free through the iTunes App store. The application is compatible with 3G, 3GS and 4G iPhones.
