Jawbone Up for Android app officially launched

Jawbone Up for Android has been officially launched after being exclusive to iOS users ever since its initial release back in 2011. The company that has made a mark in the Bluetooth device industry, seeks to expand its customer base with this tool.

The Up application in conjunction with the wristband, aids those concerned about their health by monitoring their lifestyle through various dimensions. First is a sleep tracker which assesses users’ patterns by taking into account the amount of time spent in bed amongst other criteria. By employing the Power Nap feature or by setting the Smart Alarm, users are shaken out of their slumber at that point of their cycle which would result in least lethargy.

The tool keeps a watch on movement that is carried out throughout the day by considering the amount of activity done, the intensity of it, the distance covered and the number of calories burned. In case of inadequate action, it vibrates to give couch potatoes a gentle nudge in the right direction. Foodies will be able to control their diet courtesy of this utility. All they will need to do is simply take a picture of the food they are about to shove down or scan the barcode on the item to reconsider their decision.

Users can have their entire lifestyle charted out for them and will be able to gain insights about their moods by joining the dots between their sleep patterns and activity cycles. Furthermore, the app puts forth comparisons of different elements of users’ lives with those of others and even displays information that is pertinent to individuals.

Coming to the physical constituent, the band has been designed in such a way that makes it quite impervious to daily wear and tear. It is made from medical-grade rubber that is resistant to water, thus allowing users to keep it on the entire day. The device is available in three sizes and in eight shades. The long battery life that lasts up to 10 days is of course, an added incentive.
