Talent searches are the latest rage these days, following the trend, games and entertainment producer Island Labs recently launched an iPhone application dubbed iSing.
The application enables budding singers to record their 30-second audition and even publish it via their iPhone and iPod Touch. Their recording then soars high on the charts based on the votes they receive. Users can listen to an entry just by tapping on the thumbnail picture of the contestant. They are offered two voting options ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’.
Morgan Slain, CEO of Island Labs, mentioned “iSing is karaoke meets talent show meets social networking. We are very excited about providing a fun, lively venue on the mobile web for people to sing, share and compete for fame on the iSing talent show.
Further, users can find entries by searching for the latest, best and worst of the current month, best and worst of all-time. Users can also search ‘by location’ which will provide all the entries from a particular city.
Once the recording is done, the singer can assess and re-record the song, before it is submitted to Island Labs for evaluation. The contestant will receive an email, when their recording is approved, notifying them that they can now share it with their friends. The app facilitates users to search for their friends and build their own network of iSing participants. They can also track the status of each contestant on the chart.
The iSing app is now available in the App store and can be purchased just for $0.99.
