iPhone to get a taste of StompBox multi-functional foot controller

Griffin StompBox iPhone

A programmable multi-functional foot controller called Stompbox has been launched by Griffin Technology for the iPhone. This device is useful for enabling virtual guitar effects. It has been crafted to function with any instrument which takes a 1/4-inch jack, like a guitar, bass guitar, electric violin and keyboard.

The controller was developed to work with Frontier Design’s iShred live app. The blend of StompBox and iShred live lets musicians switch effects with their feet without taking their hands off the instrument. Individual foot switches can be employed to control varied effects within the app. This can enable the device to produce stage-worthy effects.

This device comes with the one meter Griffin GuitarConnect cable which provides connection to headphones, instruments and an iOS device at the same time. The foot controller features a 4 button foot controller, offering professional foot-switch functionality to the iPhone. The 1/4-inch jack incorporates variable input pedals such as volume or wah-wah.

The programmable controls of this device are also functional with Qscript, Griffin’s teleprompter application for the iPad and thus not restricted to musicians. By using it with Qscript, users are allowed to control text scrolling and various presentation functions with one foot.

StompBox for iPhone is available for a price of $99.99 from Apple Retail Stores as well as online at apple.com and griffintechnology.com. While the iShred live app for iPhone can be downloaded for free from the App Store, the Qscript App for iPad can be downloaded for a price of $7.99.
