The successful iPhone lacks the basic ‘cut-paste’ capabilities but the rumor mill claims that the problem might be fixed in the upcoming update of the iPhone OS. Along with the cut-paste feature the next version of the software may integrate many new features as well.

The next version of the software 3.0 enables a user to double tap a word and then use their fingers to pinch boundaries. On doing this, users will be able to see a menu containing the cut, copy and paste options.

The rumors actually came through the Digg Founder Kevin Rose and he also claims that the iPhone with the new OS would inherit all the functionality that the Palm Pre phone has. This will surely increase the huge fan following lists of the iPhone in near future.

Apparently, the 3.0 version of the iPhone will also have MMS and tethering capabilities. It will surely be very exciting to see the new version that will enhance the experience of the iPhone users.
