The third edition of the triple-SIM phone from Intex called Tri.Do made its debut in India. In 2009, Intex was apparently one of the first companies to release a triple-SIM Handset in the country. It’s a phone mainly for busy professionals and business people who have to connect with many people on a daily basis. Thus the three SIMs that the phone can accommodate supposedly makes users’ life easier and smoother to manage.

Posing as a bar style Java-based GPRS enabled Intex Tri.Do phone, it has the capacity to hold three SIM cards (GSM, GSM and CDMA). The phone’s integrated with 1800mAh battery along with a talk time of seven hours and three hundred hours of standby time. It features 32GB expandable memory and a 1.3MP camera which can be used as a webcam as well.

“The multi-SIM segment is increasingly grabbing a major pie of the total market reflecting a huge demand and utility. Having sensed this quite early, Intex was the first one to introduce a Triple-SIM phone and now it aims to build on the concept by expanding the product-assortment with thoughtfully designed products offering convenience and utility at a highly affordable price,” said Rajendra Gupta, GM- Telecom, Intex Technologies.

When a user makes or receives a call on a GSM connection, the CDMA one remains active and vice versa. This makes it convenient for users to shuttle between the two numbers. The Intex Tri.Do is also equipped with Bluetooth, a phonebook with 1000 entries, mobile tracker feature and dual memory card slots of up to 16GB each. This new mobile phone which supports English as well as Hindi is capable of functioning as a modem for web-surfing on a computer too.

The Intex Tri.Do phone comes at a price of Rs. 3,750. In India it can be bought from more than 15,000 distributors and reseller outlets, 80 Intex square stores and Home Shop 18.
