Intex joins forces with MediaTek to release an octa core smartphone soon

After Xolo partnered with Broadcom, Intex has announced its partnership with MediaTek and the two companies have planned to launch an octa core phone that will hit the Indian markets pretty soon. Intex Technologies has not decided on a moniker for the phone, but we’ll let you know as soon as they announce it.

Apart from the MediaTek MT 6592 octa core chipset sprinting at a speed of 1.7GHz, you can expect a lot of other things from the upcoming handset and that includes the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS. Thus, potential buyers can expect multiple Google mobile services and even access to the Play store. Moreover, two SIM card slots have been carved into the phone’s exterior and we should find a microSD card bay as well for expanding its built-in storage.

Considering that the SoC has eight cores, it will obviously require a lot of system memory for its smooth working and thus 2GB of RAM has been tossed into the mix. The phone is slated to come in two different variants with either 16GB or 32GB onboard hoarding space. A Mali 450-MP4 GPU is responsible for an enhanced graphics performance.

For photography enthusiasts, there’s a 13MP camera with auto focus and a BSI sensor as well as a 5MP webcam. On a slick form factor that measures 7mm in thickness, the manufacturer has fitted a 6-inch IPS LCD touchscreen. The other features include GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM and dual Yamaha speakers to name a few.

All the other details regarding the Intex phone that makes the most of the Octa core MediaTek processor will be revealed at a later date.
