Instant Voodoo Magic unveils Newsie 1.0 for iPhone

Newsie 1.0 iPhone App Instant Voodoo Magic releases its latest Newsie 1.0, their Google Reader client for the iPhone. Newsie is specially designed to enhance the iPhone’s unique capabilities and superior interface. It functions directly with Google Reader that assures the information viewed on devices is same as that on the web. With this functionality users can either use their iPhones or their desktops without any issues. Newsie is an efficient tool for exploring important news and sharing it with friends and family.

Newsie offers an easy-to-use, creative, “river-of-new” style interface. It operates easily with the user’s Google Reader account to bring updated news to their devices. It also allows easy sign-up to Google Reader to receive automatic updates from favorite blogs, popular publications like New York Times and many more. With Newsie built-in browser, users can star their favorite items and read them later. The application allow users to share these starred items via built-in emailing panel or tweet them using Tweetie and Twitterrific. The app rapidly updates all the changes made to any item’s status, including star, read, unread and shared. With the context bar users can access new news, starred or shared items and annotated news items.

“As a heavy user of Google Reader on iPhone, I had tried many other client apps, but just couldn’t seem to find what I wanted in terms of speed and flexibility” said Mike Manzano, founder of Instant Voodoo Magic. “Newsie basically takes all the good features of gReader and adds features only possible in a native app, such as web page caching and integration with Mail and Twitter apps. Newsie isn’t going for the most features. It is all about an easy and solid workflow and a great user experience for people who read and share news often.”

The innovative app saves articles for off-line reading and also saves original web page associated with the starred news articles. This feature allows easy procurement of a list of online readers while on the go. The integration of NewGator and Google Reader seems to be beneficial for NewGator users. With Newsie, NewGator users can easily access their RSS updates. Newsie offers workflow-related preferences letting users to sync with the interface. The app displays virtually unlimited number of new items in spite of the offline reading based on the devices’ memory and also supports handy notes panel. Newsie supports landscape mode and has been beta tested with several users for many months.

For efficient working of Newsie 1.0 users require a Google Reader account, an iPhone or iPod touch 3.0 or higher limited only by available memory and Internet connection. Newsie 1.0 is available at the Apple App Store in the New category for $3.99 only. Users can also get the review copies on request.
