Just yesterday, we had reported about Sharp entering the Indian market with four fresh handsets. Well, another company forays into the Indian mobile market. iBall has rolled out mobile phones in seven Magnificent categories, each portraying unique characteristics of its own. The company has launched a device especially designed for senior citizens dubbed, iBall Senior.

This handset bundles up key attributes like amber color, large fonts, enhanced sound and integrates the innovative SOS button. In seven seconds of pressing the SOS button, the device rings in a siren notifying the people around that the user is in difficulty. Additionally, it even sends messages to five pre-defined numbers and then immediately starts calling them one after the other till anyone of them are attended.

Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, Best IT World (India), asserted “All iBall products are unique in blending technology with design, aesthetics and innovation. Our range of mobile phones combines these three attributes even better, in a highly cost-efficient manner. Based on in-depth research, we have introduced feature like SOS button for senior citizen, we have also designed waterproof handsets considering the Indian weather and life style of working Indians. iBall will be the first brand in Indian mobile phone market to come out with a very clear cut segmented strategy for mobile phones. Through this segmented strategy the brand will be looking at different segment demographics, consumer preferences, specialized requirements.”

The company has also debuted what it claims to be the slimmest QWERTY phone in its Sleec category. Named Thin, this handset measures up to 8 mm in thickness and is loaded with a dual camera, a dual battery, and supports dual SIM. Further, the company will be proffering an optional cover that can hold the second battery. This case is bundled with the phone free of cost. Due to the dual battery, handset owners can enjoy almost 10 hours of talktime.

Up next is the waterproof offering from iBall. At the launch event Parasrampuria dipped the phone in a bowl of water for almost 10 minutes. However, it is said that even after this the handset operated normally. What’s more, the device does not submerge into the water it simply floats atop.

The Magnificient seven segments include Shaan, Waterproof, Sleec, Flip, Posh, Touch, and Senior. Shaan might retail for anything between Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2500, while the Waterproof, the Senior and the Floatable will cost users Rs. 3000. The Sleec and Posh will carry a price tag of Rs. 5500, whereas touchscreen handsets will be priced between Rs. 6000 to Rs. 7000.
