The Huawei Ascend D2 release date for China should pop up anytime this month considering that the device was recently uncovered at CES. The company unveiled the gadget along with the Ascend Mate which is the first smartphone to carry a 6.1-inch display.
The Ascend D2 falls under the phablet category as it shows off a 5-inch Super Retina IPS screen which spews images and videos in 1080p. A far as durability is concerned, it has been splashed with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is dust- and water-resistant. This should make it sturdy enough to survive the daily bumps and bruises of life.
Keeping pace with the recent norms, it comes engraved with a 13MP camera. The snapper features a BSI sensor and can deliver pictures in HDR. A 1.3MP webcam snuggles next to the screen and enables live video conferencing as well as recording HD clips. The inbuilt storage capacity has been pin pointed as 32GB and there seem to be no sign of an expansion slot.
The smartphone weighs 170 grams and measures 140mm x 71mm x 9.4mm in dimensions. It packs the Android 4.1 OS and is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad core Hi-Silicon CPU as well as 2GB of RAM within its framework.
