HTC Touch Diamond targets two million sales in 2008

The HTC Touch DiamondWith all the good reviews that it is receiving, the HTC Touch Diamond makers are having high ambitions about their product. The product has just been launched yet a lot of hype surrounding its looks and features has been made, what more, it has been well-received!

In a recent press conference held in Taiwan, company CEO Peter Chou made a modest statement stating that the company hopes to sell 2 million units by the end of the year 2008.

The company’s ambitions seem to be arising from the fact that the previous version of the smart phone – HTC Touch hit two million sales mark hit in January 2008.

The product has been described as rival of Apple iPhone which was launched 21 days after the HTC Touch was launched. Apple iPhone has already sold 5.4 million units by the end of 2007 and plans to achieve the sales target of 9 million this year.

HTC Touch Diamond was launched on May 13, 2008 in cooperation with Chungwa Telecom, one of the leading telecom services in Taiwan. The telecom services has already purchased about 20,000-30,000 Touch Diamond handsets from HTC which fuelled the expectation of HTC to reach the sales target.

The phone is going to be launched in 30 countries more and it has been already launched in London.
