HTC First image leaked, is this the new Facebook phone?

With the Facebook event being just a day away, more leaks have surfaced stating that the HTC phone has now been given the moniker of First. Since both the companies are keeping mum about the smartphone, it’s best that this piece of news be taken with a pinch of salt.

Evleaks uploaded an image of the handset through its Twitter account as can be seen below, thus sparking a fresh set of rumors which indicate that this could indeed be the social network’s latest endeavor. What is noteworthy is the moniker is displayed on the screen in what could pretty much be called, typical ‘Facebook style.’ Earlier christened ‘Myst’, the device has been basking in the limelight for a decent amount of time now.

We have had quite a few speculations swarming the internet, concerning the phone and most recently the ones regarding the website’s latest Home Launcher for Android. The supposed app apparently has been specially designed for the handset and will be replacing the maker’s standard UI.

The involvement of AT&T in this venture has also been a topic of discussion. If this story holds true, it would mark the second time when these three companies join forces. Their first collaboration resulted in the launch of the Status with a dedicated button for direct access to the social network.

Specifications which had emerged earlier revealed to us that the smartphone will be packing in the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean as the OS. Multitasking will be taken care of by a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus SoC consisting of two cores, while 1GB of RAM abets the chipset in fulfilling its responsibilities. 16GB of internal memory should prove sufficient to cater to users’ hoarding needs. External details that have come to the fore include a 4.3-inch touchscreen, a 5MP primary lens and a 1.6MP front-facing shooter.

Seeing as the HTC First by Facebook seems to be enveloped in a blanket of mystery which refuses to die down, those interested should be grateful that they will have to hold on to their horses for just a day more.
