Announced in September, the HTC Explorer is now ready to be picked up by fans in the UK via online retailer Clove Technology. Running on Android 2.3.5, the smartphone comes with the updated HTC Sense user interface to ease the process of browsing and finding contacts.
The latest HTC handset is incorporated with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen possessing a resolution of 320 x 480p. Powered by a 600MHz CPU, the device lends support to various connectivity options like Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, GPRS and EDGE. It features 512MB RAM and is equipped with a 3MP camera.
Measuring 102.8mm x 57.2mm x 12.9mm, the Explorer operates on a 1230mAh battery that delivers a talk and standby time of up to 455 minutes and 450 hours, respectively. It offers an internal storage capacity of up to 90MB and comes preloaded with entertainment and social networking options such as Facebook, YouTube and Friend Stream. Also preinstalled in this smartphone is the People Widget that allows users to group their loved ones and view their activities easily.
The incorporated smart dialing feature lets users search for a contact by typing in their names or initials. For those who forward messages to several friends at the same time, the grouping option makes the process easier by putting them all in one place so that one message can conveniently be sent to every person in that group.
The company claims that their newest handset is capable of providing a high quality and speedy web browsing experience as it comes with HSDPA and wireless networking technology. There is also the smart URL prediction functionality that guesses the website that users wish to browse on the basis of their top 100 sites.
The HTC Explorer price is £192 through Clove UK and this is inclusive of VAT.
