HTC Desire and Nexus One sizzle with SLCD display

HTC logoPreviously it we heard about iSuppli claiming shortage of the OLED displays led many smartphones to sport an AMLCD interface. But HTC seems to have moved ahead from providing AMOLED displays and integrates a much enhanced Super LCD screen into its line of handsets. For now, the HTC Desire and Nexus One phones will be enhanced with this display.

With the amalgamation of SLCD, users can experience a superior natural and much refined contrast of colors. They can also enjoy an enhanced scrutinizing experience with wider viewing angles thanks to Sony’s new VSPEC III technology. Apart from this, users can experience an improved battery life as well.

Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation, explained, “HTC is experiencing high-demand for many of our phones, specifically our phones with 3.7 inch displays. The new SLCD display technology enables us to ramp up our production capabilities quickly to meet the high-demand. The SLCD displays provide consumers with a comparable visual experience to HTC’s current 3.7 inch displays with some additional benefits including battery performance.”

If compared to the previous LCD panels, this SLCD proffers better performance and boosts five times improved power management. The display apparently will maximize the experience of utilizing the touchscreen panels.

The SLCD display will be incorporated later this summer into the devices.
