HTC Desire 616 expected to launch in India with mid-range price tag

The much rumored octa core processor-equipped HTC Desire 616 has been released by the Taiwanese giant, at least in Singapore right now, but its entry into India has almost been confirmed. Launched earlier this week in China, this device is expected to carry with it a mid-range price tag that will read around Rs 15000.

The Desire 616 smartphone carries onboard a 5-inch display with 720p HD resolution, and being an HTC smartphone features the Sense UI on top of its Android KitKat OS. The Desire 616 is fueled by a 1.7GHz octa core Cortex-A7 processor from MediaTek which is assisted in its operations by 1GB worth of RAM.

4GB of storage is present on this phone, apart from a microSD card slot which makes possible expansions of up to 32GB. An 8MP camera has been placed on its rear surface, while a 2MP webcam can be spotted on its front face. It’s a dual SIM device which makes it a right fit in the India market.
