HTC Desire 601 and 300 are now official for the mid-range and entry-level

HTC has officially announced the Desire 601 smartphone which has been rumored under the name Zara for quite some time now. Along with the mid-range device, the company has even taken the wraps off the Desire 300 which caters to the entry-level segment and a couple of other products.

While the Desire 601 may sound like a variant of the 600, it’s actually a cross between the Desire 500 and One mini smartphones. The handset sports a 4.5-inch qHD screen, a dual core Snapdragon 400 1.4GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The front features BoomSound stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers as well as a VGA snapper and the rear sports a 5MP 1080p camera. The Desire 300 has a Snapdragon S4 dual core 1GHz CPU, a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. There’s a 5MP primary shooter here as well, but no webcam.

They run on the Android platform with HTC Sense and BlinkFeed onboard. The desire 600 is also 4G LTE compatible. Apart from the two new additions, HTC has announced that the One flagship will be available in vital blue shade starting Q4 2013. The company also launched the BoomBass compact Bluetooth subwoofer which packs in a dedicated amplifier. The sound system will be up for grabs on the accessory store from mid-October.

Both devices are scheduled to go live in select markets. The Desire 601 will be available across Europe, the Middle East and Africa this month, while the Desire 300 is expected to go on sale in October. No price details have been provided as yet.
