Just yesterday, HTC Legend owners in India were upgraded from Eclair to Android 2.2 Froyo. Looks like, the handset manufacturer intends to amplify user’s December festivities by packing in fresh goodies for them. HTC’s Southeast Asia Support page has now posted that Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) Android 2.2 update for the HTC Aria has been released.

The Aria’s diminutive form factor packs in a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display along with an optical joystick for quick and easy navigation. Sporting a 5 megapixel camera, this beauty is loaded with the complete suite of Google mobile services.

Previously operating on Éclair, the handset will now be able to employ the goodness of Android 2.2. Along with Froyo, the upgrade will bring HTC’s Sense user interface. Mobile buffs will be alerted when the FOTA will be available for their devices. Subsequently, they simply have to accept the update using Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G.

The company advises handset owners to install Froyo whilst using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan. Users can confirm a successful update by checking the Build number, after the update it will be 2.37.708.5. Just like all updates, HTC Aria owners should back up their data to be on a safer side.
