With the launch of a new iPhone app, Groundlink delivers a simple way of booking ground travel to millions of users. Introduced at the PhoCusWright Conference, the innovative app graphically displays a map with nearest taxi, shuttle and limousine service providers. It allows users to book a vehicle anywhere in the world with a single click.
The application is created specially to allow users to conveniently find, price, select and book their expected chauffeured service on the GroundLink network. The application also overcomes the inabilities related to conventional telephone reservations and “hail-a-cab” procedure.
“We are thrilled to launch the first global ground travel iPhone app. With 24 in-house developers, GroundLink is committed to being the innovator in the ground travel industry. This mobile app is one of three exciting products that we are planning on launching over the next few months. Our goal is to make ground travel as easy to book and manage as hotels or car rentals. While 70 percent of traditional travel is conducted online, less than 10 percent of ground travel is done on the internet; GroundLink is going to change that,” said Alex Mashinsky, CEO and founder of GroundLink.
The functionalities of the application are built upon the company’s retail website called limores.com. Presently, the website connects over thousands of users to nearly 15,000 ground travel service providers across the globe. The company claims that it has processed more than 1,000,000 ground travel transactions till date.
