Google’s Open Spot for Android makes parking effortless

Google Open Spot Searching for a parking spot in these space-crunched times more often than not could be a hassle. Google pacifies all those distressed drivers with the Open Spot app. This app enables users to mark the spot on Google maps after they leave a particular parking space.

Open Spot makes it convenient for those who are searching for a parking spot. This helps drivers save time, gas and could ultimately lower the pollution levels. In order to motivate drivers, this app offers Karma points which rank them depending on the number of spaces they tagged.

The color of the spot is related to how long ago it was marked by another user. A spot that is 10-20 minutes old will appear yellow to the drivers while a spot marked five minutes ago will appear red. This app enables users to view parking spots within a 0.9 mile area around the current location. The tool requires Android 2.0 or higher versions.

Open Spot is currently available in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands. Customers can also avail this app from App Market for free.
