On reading this, users may either be saying ‘just’ or ’that’s pretty much’. For sure, Google Nexus One made castles of puffery but somewhere the initial sales haven’t reflected that buildup. The Wall Street Journal has recently revealed that according to analyst firm Flurry, Google sold just 80,000 units of the device during its first month on sale, reports MobileBurn.

Apparently, when placed on a comparison scale, phones like Verizon Wireless’ Motorola Droid merchandized 525,000 units during its first month of sale, and the iPhone sold 600,000 units during its debut.

Seemingly, the low number of sales has egged on Google to sell the Nexus One online at its Google.com/phone website.

Reportedly, the company’s lack of Nexus One advertising also might have been a contributing factor, particularly when take into consideration the number of web ads available for the Droid and iPhone. Apart from this, early issues involving its 3G connectivity and confusion over where users should go for support might have resulted in such low sales figures, reveals MobileBurn.
