Google Nexus 7 successor to sell at $269.99? Expected to be announced on July 24

If leaked documents are to be believed, then the Google Nexus 7 is soon to receive a successor, which will have its 32GB model placed at $269.99. We even have a picture of the device which has leaked out in the open. The whole mystery will probably be solved on July 24, for Google has announced an event which will be taking place on the said date, with its host being Chrome and Android boss, Sundar Pichai.

Android 4.3 has been in the rumor mills for a long time now, and we can expect the same to be infused into this apparent tablet. Its existence was first revealed by Engadget which received pictures of internal documents which have gone on to reveal the slate’s MRP as well. The model being discussed in these pages is a 32GB one, but the device is also expected to come out in the form of a 16GB variant.

Google Nexus 7 Successor

Meanwhile, Android Central has got hold of alleged pictures and a video of the tablet already. Subtle design changes aside, it also seems to have grabbed hold of a rear camera which wasn’t a part of the earlier slab. Some specs of the new Google Nexus 7 successor have been revealed through these pictures as well. It will apparently feature the 5MP rear snapper alongside a 1.2MP webcam.

Apart from that, a Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset bearing a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor is also being claimed to form part of its offerings. The sticker on the model says that a 4GB RAM has been granted to it, but it’d be ridiculous to believe this. Besides, similar goof ups have been known to occur with such stickers, so a 2GB RAM can be expected to greet users on the tablet.

Device

Like we said, the Nexus 7 successor is apparently set to be showcased at the July 24 event which the Mountain View giant will be holding. We’ll probably get a confirmation on its price and release date then, so stay tuned.
