Google Nexus 10 shows up on the Play store in India for Rs 29,999

The Google Nexus 10 tablet that stayed away from the subcontinent for almost a year has finally dropped anchor in India. We are not sure exactly when the device will hit stores, but it shouldn’t take long considering that Google has already listed it on the Play store for a starting price of Rs 29,999.

The aforementioned price is for the 16GB Wi-Fi device and the 32GB model is likely to be available for around Rs 31,040 as the company has pegged it at $499. Similarly, the Nexus 5 has been listed and its 16GB and 32GB variants will cost Rs 29,000 and Rs 33,000, respectively. Shipping dates of none of these gadgets have been announced as yet.

So here’s what can be expected from the Nexus 10 apart from 16GB or 32GB onboard memory. It makes the most of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS and it should receive the KitKat 4.4 update pretty soon. The slate’s front panel is dominated by a 10.055-inch display that is reinforced with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating for resisting scrapes and scratches.

A dual core ARM Cortex-A15 processor rests within the confines of the device along with the Mali-T604 GPU and 2GB of RAM. And as far as the cameras are concerned, the Nexus 10 shows off 2 of them, a 5MP snapper on the rear panel and a 1.9MP lens on the front. A 9000mAh lithium-polymer battery has been tossed in as well. All of these components rest inside a chassis with dimensions of 263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9 millimeters.

The Google Nexus 10 should be available for purchase before the end of this month.
